Raye10_31 The only thing I know from my social studies book about Bailey castles, is that they do not have walls sorrounding the lookout tower and mottes, well they have cast iron gateway bars that take longer to deterierate and are known to be of better quality against outsiders...Thats all of the information that I could conclude.
Gordon Raye10-31 is a little confused with the bailey in a later castle, and a motte and bailey castle. Motte and baileys were built from earth and timber, which allowed rapid construction and ease of defense. Expensive iron yetts came with the much slower construction of stone castles.
